Buk-Tek: Long Stroke Bucking Unit

Buk-Tek is a long stroke bucking unit available in three torque ranges, namely: 50,000, 75,000 and 100,000 ft lbs. Unlike some older generation units that have multiple adapters and jaws for every conceivable size, this new generation unit comes with radially arranged cylinders removing the necessity to have multiple jaws and dies for varying sizes.

The headstock and tailstock each contain radially arranged heavy duty clamping cylinders and each piston rod is fitted with a replaceable standard tong strip die. The hydraulic system is designed to move the cylinders in unison to positively center and grip the tubular without the need to change out dies.

Operationally this is much simpler to operate and control plus it reduces the costs considerably. The head is a closed top style, which is fully rotational and the tail stock is open style making it ideal for completion component make-up.

The back-up assembly is hydraulically positioned from the control console negating the need for operator intervention or manual handling of large assemblies  The machine has full CRA capability with either aluminum or specially coated inserts.

STANDARD FEATURES INCLUDE:

  • Ten foot bed length
  • Center Line Height: 42" to 48" (approx)
  • The standard ten foot bed length allows the
    tailstock to move +/- three feet. Alternate bed
    lengths are available on request if necessary.

  • EPU100TT Integrated hydraulic power pack and control console complete with:
    • (1) Piston pump with Load Sense and Horsepower Limiting
    (1) High pressure filter
    (1) Return filter
    (1) Remote gauge panel
    (1) Reservoir, 40 Gallon including:
    (1) Electric motor, 50HP, 220VAC,  
    3PH, 60Hz, (Final motor spec may vary)
    (1) Motor starter w/start/stop push buttons and 110 volt ac controls
